The EU referendum has exposed deep divisions in British society. It has been a bitterly fought campaign that has split blocks of voters who have traditionally been allies. The Labour Party is going through an existential crisis following the election of Jeremy Corbyn as party leader. The party’s poll ratings are low and it is beset by infighting. Although Labour’s future is bleak, the crisis is bigger than who leads the party and has roots that go back decades. We take a detailed look at the crisis engulfing the Labour Party, what is happening, what caused it and what it means for the future of the party.
